Learning and Development
As a dynamic forward looking organisation West Midlands LGA is committed to developing the current skills and potential of all employees.
Our employees can participate in a variety of learning opportunities ranging from coaching, shadowing and secondments within West Midlands LGA and across partner organisations, such as the 38 local authorities. In addition, all employees can take advantage of the regional Learning Opportunities Programme.
For over 15 years West Midlands Training and Consultancy Team has been delivering high quality, cost effective training to organisations across the West Midlands. Through using qualified and experienced trainers and consultants, we have successfully met the learning and development needs of hundreds of organisations in the public, private and voluntary sectors.
Our broad range of learning inventions (over 80 courses ranging from minute taking to project management) are designed to be relevant, engaging and participative to ensure that participants receive the maximum benefit from attending them. We aim to create learning that makes a difference.
The services of the team are available to the consortium’s local authorities, and also non-members. However, all courses are also available, free of charge, to all West Midlands LGA employees.
Details of the training opportunities available from West Midlands Training and Consultancy Team can be found at http://www.westmidlandstraining.com
In developing a performance culture, West Midlands LGA has a robust personal development review scheme. Employees have a review with their line manager every six months, and implicit within this process is highlighting any learning and development needs of employees.
