Bromsgrove District Council
Bromsgrove District Council is on the road to excellence. In 18 months our team of around 390 staff has catapulted the Council from a rating of ‘poor’ on the Government’s Comprehensive Performance Assessment ratings to ‘fair’. We at Bromsgrove District Council are committed to striving for excellence.
Could you be part of the team that achieves an ‘excellent’ Council for the people of the Bromsgrove District?
The Council provides a wide range of services, often in partnership with local businesses, organisations and other authorities, to a population of over 92,000. Our many responsibilities include Planning, Environment, Street Scene and Community Services with corporate objectives and priorities of:
Regeneration - housing and Bromsgrove town centre
Improvement - in all areas
Sense of community and well being
Environment - clean streets and climate change
The performance of the Council is only one aspect of our ongoing developments in Bromsgrove. Major projects include the mammoth task of redeveloping areas of the former MG Rover Longbridge car plant situated in the District, regenerating Bromsgrove town centre and upgrading the town’s railway station.
Sharing Services with Other Councils
Sharing services with other local authorities is now high on our agenda.
Since July 2008 Bromsgrove District Council has shared its Chief Executive with Redditch Borough Council. We now also share Elections and Community Services with Redditch and plans are underway to explore the potential for other services to be shared either with Redditch or other Councils in Worcestershire.
