How to apply

 

Redditch Borough Council has a policy of advertising all job opportunities so that everyone has a fair chance to come and work at what is one of the biggest and most progressive employers in the town.

All jobs are placed on the website, and with the Employment Service, and also advertised in the most cost-effective and appropriate choice of local and national media, depending on the job.

Applicants are selected on the basis of the Person Specification for each job, and staff carrying out recruitment are all trained in fair selection techniques.


On-Line

You can complete an application form on-line by registering your details and following the instructions on the web site. You can retain copies of your application form for future reference and use.

The above option is our preferred method of application.

 

 
Recruitment Line

 

You can call the Recruitment line on 01527 534117 for an application pack, and then complete and return it. The content of an application pack duplicates the electronic documents available for download on this website. The return postal address is: HR Team, Redditch Borough Council, Town Hall, Walter Stranz Square, Redditch, B98 8AH. If you complete the application form by hand please ensure you use black ink so that the form can be photocopied. Do not attach a CV/work history alone as incomplete forms cannot be considered.

N.B. Please ensure when you are sending an application form you have checked for the correct postage as late applications cannot be considered.


 
The Recruitment Process


• Submit your application and it will be delivered to the RBC HR Team. The team will collate all applications and then forward all forms to the short-listing panel.

• The short-listing panel will review all applications forms and consider them against the criteria laid down in the person specification. Redditch Borough Council does not contact applicants who are not selected for interview. Therefore, if you have not heard with regard to your application by the interview date, please assume that you have been unsuccessful on this occasion.

• Short-listed applicants will be invited to interview by the RBC Human Resources Team within two weeks of the closing date. You will need to bring documentation that proves that you are entitled to live and work in the United Kingdom. Specific details will be included in the letter inviting you to interview.

• We will contact all interviewees within two days of the end of interviews.

• If you are the successful applicant, you will be made an offer of employment subject to medical clearance and the receipt of references that are satisfactory for our purposes.
• Some posts are also subject to other checks, such as from the Criminal Records Bureau or of your qualifications. You will need to bear this in mind if you are currently employed and need to resign from your post.
