How to apply

Before making an application:

To apply through this website please select the 'Apply now' option within the job advert of your choice. This will take you direct to the application form.

To help you through the process, you’ll notice that for each post we’ve included some practical information. This includes details about the job itself so that you can see what you will be expected to work on, and, a person specification which will help you assess how closely you match the requirements of the post.

If you are short of time, you don’t have to complete all of the application form immediately, instead you can fill some parts in and return to it later through your user name and password. Please ensure though that you complete it in time for the closing date, which will always be clearly detailed on the advert.

Our aim is to process all applications as soon as possible, and not keep you anxiously awaiting a response. To help with this, please ensure that you complete every section of the application, and unless requested, we’d also appreciate it if you didn’t forward any further information with your application, particularly CV’s, as we are not able to accept them.

Our preference is that we receive applications on-line as this enables us to provide a faster and more efficient service. However, if this not an option for you, please contact 01785 619501 where you can leave a message 24 hours a day.

The post reference number on the application is also key. Please ensure that this is clearly indicated on your application form. Where more than one post is advertised, please just use the first post reference number.

Finally, as a potential recruit, you should be aware that canvassing will disqualify an application.

Protection of Children & Vulnerable Adults

If the position for which you are applying requires an Enhanced CRB you should be aware that information relating to cautions/convictions/police intelligence may be provided to us on the Disclosure Certificate, in which case you should consider carefully what you declare in the criminal convictions section of the application form.

Following your application:

Where we can, we will also try and include the planned interview date with our advert so that you can make advanced arrangements to attend the interview or selection process.

When you visit us, you can expect a panel interview using structured interview questions. Dependant upon the post you are applying for, you may also be asked to undertake another form of assessment, for example, a written test, to give a presentation, or to come ready to conduct a practical sports session. Whatever the circumstances, you’ll receive all the details before hand in our interview invite.

For the successful applicant, as soon as we’ve made an initial offer to you, we’ll seek to take up your references. At this point you’ll receive another detailed letter outlining the clearance process and the documents we need you to provide. Once all these have been confirmed we’ll agree a start date with you and start to make plans for your arrival.
