The Association is a service organisation - it is an autonomous institution and is not a regional branch of the national Local Government Association.

West Midlands LGA represents the broad range of local government interests at a regional level, promoting and supporting constituent authorities as well as influencing regional policies which affect the economic, social and environmental well being of their communities.
