West Midlands Local Government Association (West Midlands LGA) is a voluntary association of the 38 local authorities in the West Midlands’ region – comprising the West Midlands metropolitan area and the counties of Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire.
The Association was established in 1997 and incorporated the former Regional Forum of Local Authorities and Regional (Local Government) Employers Organisation. The Association is a service organisation - it is an autonomous institution and is not a regional branch of the national Local Government Association.
West Midlands LGA represents the broad range of local government interests at a regional level, promoting and supporting constituent authorities as well as influencing regional policies which affect the economic, social and environmental well being of their communities.
The offices are located in Birmingham city centre.
