Employees receive 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays (rising to 30 days after 5 years’ continuous service) and access to a final salary pension scheme. What’s more, we put an emphasis on work-life balance, so offer flexi time, job sharing, and career breaks.
Hours of work and annual leave – 25 days per annum (30 days after 5 years’ local government service). Contractual hours are 37 hours per week for full time employees. Part time hours are available for certain roles.
Travel, car allowances and schemes – mileage allowances are paid for using cars/cycles for council business. For some posts, car loans are available, and the council operates a car lease scheme. A car sharing scheme is also available. Free bicycles are available at some locations.
Work life balance – the council aims to support employees in achieving a work life balance between home and work and has a number of initiatives in place to support this.
