This provides a general summary of Terms and Conditions of Service with Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council. Further information is available on request. Hours of Work A full time contract is 37 hours per week. Flexible, home working, job sharing and part time working arrangements may also be considered. Salary Progression through the salary band is subject to performance and assessed through the appraisal process. Performance is assessed over a 12 month review period and pay decisions are actioned from the 1st April each year. Annual Leave Annual leave entitlement is based on length of service. Basic entitlement is 24 days, rising to 29 days with 5 years service. Employees are also entitled to 8 public holidays. The leave year runs from 1st April to 31st March. Part time employees are entitled to receive a pro-rata share of holiday entitlement and public holidays. A flexi-time scheme is available for the majority of employees. Sickness Pay Employees' entitlement to paid sickness leave is based on length of service. It reaches a maximum of 6 months’ full pay and 6 months’ half pay after 5 years’ continuous local government service. Pension Provision All employees are eligible to join the Local Government Pension Scheme. This is a final salary scheme providing a guaranteed pension based on your salary at the time of retirement and length of membership. Further information is available on request.
