The Role

Worcestershire Archaeology part of the Archive and Archaeology Service is seeking a Senior Archaeological Project Manager to join our innovative and friendly team

‘Worcestershire Archaeology undertakes works to the very highest of standards. They are an exemplar of good practice, from management to field team.’

If this sounds like the type of commercial archaeology team that you’d like to play a lead role in, we have a rare opportunity available for a Senior Project Manager to join our Leadership Team. You will be a highly motivated individual with extensive experience in commercial archaeology and a demonstrable record of successfully taking archaeological projects from inception to completion. You should be adaptable and innovative, have the capacity to build strong professional relationships and provide leadership, and to generate future business opportunities with existing and new clients.

As part of our Leadership Team, you will play an integral part in ensuring the continued success of our business, delivering high quality projects that meet the requirements of our clients and other stakeholders, and in sustaining our reputation as a leading regional archaeological service. You will have strong communication and leadership skills and will use these to contribute to the strategic development of our business and the wider functions of the Archive and Archaeology Service.

We operate on a wide range of projects across the West Midlands and beyond and have been delivering high quality fieldwork for clients for over 40 years. This post provides a great opportunity to contribute to continuing the successful commercial development of an organisation which aims to provide an innovative and friendly environment supporting our staff in maintaining a good work/life balance - Worcester's a great place to live and has one of the fastest growing economies in the country. With only about 5% of our projects being stay-away jobs you'll not be on the road all the time so can get plenty of time to enjoy making your home here. We are based at The Hive (www.thehiveworcester.org), an award-winning building in the centre of Worcester providing a unique library, archive and archaeological service under one roof.
