AHT leading on Inclusion
Leadership Points L4-L8

We have an exciting vacancy for an AHT to lead on Inclusion. To apply you must have current experience of leading as a SENCO in a mainstream primary school. Ideally this will be in an urban area that serves the needs of pupils with complex barriers linked to deprivation including SEMH.

It is essential that you have the National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination qualification and you must have a proven record of being a highly successful SENCO. You will be able to demonstrate a high success rate in achieving EHCP funding for children with high needs. You must have excellent organisation skills and be a highly effective communicator. Literacy skills are paramount to success as you will be communicating with many agencies and stakeholders.

Inclusion at Temple Meadow is in an excellent place and has been extremely well led by our DHT. We are looking now to expand our leadership team and cascade the inclusion role to an AHT.  Our ethos is child centred and we are extremely nurturing. We use emotion coaching to value pupils and build their confidence. We are always innovative and meet problems head on with creative solutions such as our bespoke Learn 2 Learn provision and Well Being Hub. We have a reputation with parents and carers for excellent SEND provision.

Your role as Inclusion lead will involve some teaching commitment but you will have adequate release time to carry out this role. Along with other AHTs you will lead a phase. You need to be a very competent and adaptable teacher able to coach and mentor accordingly. Ideally you will have experience of EPEP and of working with Children in Care (CIC) pupils.

We are such a lovely school with wonderful pupils, that we all care passionately about.
This role is a leadership position so it brings Inclusion to the heart of our SLT. You will be part of the leadership team that drives school improvement so you will need the versatility and aptitude for this role. You need to be a consummate professional, dedicated, loyal and committed.

It goes without saying you must be committed to Temple Meadow values of every single child needing to receive the best curriculum, nurture and experiences that we possibly can give them. You need to be very hardworking, strategic and able to motivate your team to achieve school aims. Problem solving; thinking clearly and able to make connections around pupil needs are attributes you will need for success in this role.

To apply please ask for a pack from the school office which will have the job description and person specification. You need to complete the standard application form in the pack and attach no more than one side of A4 in which you outline both your suitability and the skills you bring to the role.
