We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated School Business Manager to join the Yew Tree family. We are a friendly three-form entry primary school with a nursery class. We are looking for someone who will work closely with our Senior Leadership Team (SLT) in order to play a leading role in the management of the non-teaching aspects of school life.
Do you have what it takes?
- To efficiently and effectively manage both the day to day running of all the financial, facilities and administrative aspects of the school, as well as advise on the longer term strategic direction, to enable us to continue to improve
- To be an active member of the wider leadership team playing a key role in school improvement planning, working alongside other members of the SLT to achieve the school’s aims.
- To take the role of the school’s lead financial professional, including responsibility for the preparation and setting of annual and longer term budgets.
- To provide strategic vision and leadership for support functions so that the school runs efficiently and effectively to deliver its aims and priorities.
- To provide professional leadership and management, taking responsibility for key members of the support staff team, and be an active member of our school community.
- To be proactive and is continually looking to identify additional funding opportunities for the school.
- To liaise effectively with the Local Authority and external organisations in specific areas such as payroll, administration, catering, health and safety and premises (the upkeep and maintenance of the school buildings and funding)
We are looking for someone who is/has:
- Experience in working in finance and budget management preferably in a school setting.
- Highly organised, able to prioritise, results driven with good attention to detail
- Self-motivated, tenacious and flexible
- Good at working under pressure and still smiling!
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Competent with IT systems – SIMS, FMS
- Certificate or Diploma in School Business Management or equivalent Business Degree or Post Graduate qualification and/or an accountancy qualification e.g. AAT
This is an extremely exciting time to join Yew Tree as we have recently moved in to a brand new £7m building with the remaining site construction due to finish early next academic year. Our new Head Teacher took up his position in January 2020 and is looking to build a team of people who passionately believe in our five core values (responsibility, respect, courage, ambition & pride) and our vision of ‘Learning Without Limits’ for all of our children.
