This is an important role at the Council. I should know as I came to Wychavon to take on the role as Head of Planning in 2000. In 2004 I took on the role of MD and the Service unit has expanded and now incorporates our Housing functions.

We are looking for a Head of Service to play a strong leadership role and be an integral part of the Councils Senior Management team. In addition to this corporate role, you must have strong professional skills and be capable of delivering excellent planning and housing services.

We are developing a new corporate strategy which will be based on 3 priorities, a strong economy, a strong environment and strong communities. This new strategy will set the direction for the Council over the next few years and it is a great opportunity to be part of that journey. Members quite rightly are keen that the economy of the
district is central to the strategy and this role will be key in ensuring that the planning service and the strategic housing function play their part in the implementation of a successful strategy.

The post is a key one in our Management Team and the post holder will work very closely with our portfolio holders on the Executive Board as well as the Planning Committee.
