Apprenticeships in Local Government

If you want a career with purpose where you can make a real difference to people’s lives, then you’ve come to the right place!

The apprenticeship opportunities in local government are more exciting than you might imagine, have more variety than you may think, and offer more freedom to reach your potential than you ever thought possible.

Apprenticeships are an exciting work-based training opportunity that combine working and studying. It is a great way for you to gain practical experience, knowledge and skills in a specific industry or profession whilst also earning a wage. They are for people at all stages of their career, not just school leavers, and many don’t require experience.

Across the country, local government is responsible for delivering over 800 different services to local communities. Some of these services are the ones you’d probably expect such as waste collection, social care and schools; whereas others may be a surprise including licensing, climate change and visitor experience.
