Pine Green Academy is a special day school for 126 children aged 7-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties (SEMH), and shares a site with Evergreen Academy, a special short-term Pupil Referral Unit provision for 32 children aged 4 – 11 with SEMH.
Both schools are at an exciting phase in their development. We are in the fourth year, following academy conversion, now being sponsored by The Shaw Education Trust. We are a small school and PRU where all pupils are well known and understood by our experienced staff and we are proud of our pastoral care which ensures our pupils are well supported

The school are seeking to appoint a full time permanent caretaker for a start as soon as possible in September. You will have experience of working in a site maintenance and/or security environment and be able to work professionally alongside children and as part of a team. You will be responsible for the effective operation of the site ensuring it is kept operationally efficient and clean. You will work with a small team of site staff and will liaise with the Business Manager to ensure an effective caretaking support service, whilst also coordinating with the Shaw Education Trust on more strategic projects?

 

Applicants must:

Hold a NVQ 3 Building Maintenance & Estates Service, or equivalent qualification/experience in a relevant discipline.
• Demonstrate evidence of working as part of a team.
• Demonstrate evidence of experience of working to contracts and in ordering and managing materials.

You will:

Ensure heating plant and equipment is efficiently and effectively operated.
• Be responsible for maintaining the security of the premises (buildings and grounds), including monitoring the school’s CCTV system.
• Liaise with the Senior Leadership Team in relation to the formulation of risk assessments, and undertake risk assessments and COSHH procedures as appropriate.
• Undertake duties in line with maintenance and cleaning as required.
• Ensure the general appearance of the buildings and surrounding areas are maintained in accordance with the required standards set by the school.
