About Us and the Role

 

Warwickshire County Council is offering an exciting opportunity for 2 people to join their Procurement Team as Procurement Apprentices. The apprenticeship is a great opportunity to work with experienced Procurement professionals and to earn a salary, whilst working towards a qualification and gaining a firm understanding of how projects are managed within local government.  The apprenticeship gives you hands on work experience, supplemented with a recognised study programme.

The roles will focus on providing support to both members of the procurement team and the wider Authority.

This support will be developed by gaining an understanding of all functions of procurement; from project scoping to completion including understanding of approval stages, the tendering cycle, preparation of evaluation documents and managing the process, contract award, contract registers, forward procurement plans, social value, ethical issues, and supplier relationships through contract management.

The apprenticeship

Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply Level 3 Procurement and Supply Assistant apprenticeship.

During this appretniceship you will be required to spend a minimum of 20% of your employment hours in off the job training. You will be managed and supported throughout the training and assessment programme.

The apprenticeship will give you a foundation for pursuing a career within a Procurement setting or progressing to Contract Management.

You must have

To be considered for this post you will need a basic level of numeracy, literacy and ICT skills, as well as least five GCSE grades C - A* (4-9) or equivalent, including English and Maths.

  • Good administration and organisational skills
  • Good interpersonal and sound communication skills
  • Able to handle challenging situations
  • The ability to work as part of a team, under pressure and on your own initiative
  • Be self-motivated with a flexible and positive attitude.
