Do you want the opportunity to help shape the future of the catering service for Solihull and put customers and children at the heart of everything you do?

We have a unique opportunity for Operational Support Managers to join us in brand new roles within Solihull Catering Services.

You will drive continuous improvement across Solihull Catering Services and ensure customer engagement and exceptional service delivery, including customer service.

Reporting to the Operational Relationship Manager, you will engage the onsite teams at your kitchens across the borough and work closely with all relevant stakeholders to maintain and grow business across your portfolio. You will ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, delivering the highest possible standards of service in all areas of the operation.

As Operational Support Manager you will:

  • Support the Operational relationship manager to ensure a high level of operational productivity and quality of service.
  • Provide support to onsite teams and kitchens.
  • Manage specific catering projects and promotional activity with schools to encourage greater take up of school meals, working with key stakeholders as required.
  • Increase management capability through knowledge sharing, training and support, supporting training delivery and monitoring the development of individuals.
  • Work within the compliance of the local authority policies and procedures using best practice and through continuous improvement.
  • Maintain up-to date and accurate Time and Attendance information and manage holidays, sickness and other absence in line with company policy.

You will have:

  • Experience as an Operations / Area Manager within the Catering industry (or position of similar responsibility)
  • Experience of managing people and health & safety within a unionised environment.
  • A proven track record of working to clearly defined service delivery KPIs

This is a flexible role based on business needs and outcomes. There is no excessive travelling though you will be expected working on a daily basis with schools.

This role is based mainly in the Solihull borough, however Solihull Catering Service also support a number of schools in Coventry and Warwickshire. Whilst there is no excessive travelling, you will be expected to visit our customers on a regular basis.
