The Role

Warwickshire Children with Disabilities Team is seeking a Family Support Worker to join the team on a permanent, full-time basis. We are a County Wide Team comprising of both Social Workers and Family Support Workers based across two sites – one in the north of the county and one in the south. The role will require you to be prepared to work county wide.

Focusing on strengths and utilising an asset-based approach, you will support and enable children and their family members to reach identified outcomes to meet their full potential and maximise the child / young person’s independence.

  • FSW’s in the Children with Disabilities Team, support Social Workers with specific pieces of direct work inclusive of Child in Need, Child Protection, and Children Looked After. This includes undertaking direct work with children and young people and their families.
  • Supporting with visits and Family Time sessions where required.
  • Delivery of parenting programmes, sleep programmes and parenting approaches.
  • Undertaking Carers Wellbeing Conversations with carers and parents.
  • Contributing to social work assessments.
  • Co-delivering information and support sessions for families and children within the wider community who require support with a child / young person with a disability.
  • Participation in duty activities alongside Social Workers, responding to emergencies / duty support as required.
