Compliance Officer and Regulatory Support Officer

Grade 5/6/7 (SCP 14 - 30)

£23,080 - £33,782 per annum (pro rata if part time & for length of contract)

37 hours per week with scheduled weekend working

Fixed term Contract - 31st March 2022

WRS currently have several positions to join our proactive Environmental Health and Licensing teams assisting businesses with compliance in relation to both Health and safety and Food Safety in light of changes to COVID 19 regulations.

Regulatory Support Officer

Purpose of the Role

  • To support the Food Safety Team through a series of interventions within selected food premises to check food compliance
  • To check compliance with Allergen legislation
  • To check any COVID 19 measures in place are being followed
  • To visually check basic health and safety requirements are in place
  • To identify issues of concern and non-compliance that can be used to target intelligence led interventions by Environmental Health Practitioners
  • To investigate service requests in respect of nuisances
  • To represent WRS and our partner organisations ensuring a good standard of customer service at all times.

Compliance Officer

Purpose of the Role

  • To carry out visits where there are reports of COVID 19 outbreaks, gather intelligence, and contact businesses to check risk assessments.
  • Reviewing risk assessments required by businesses to control the spread of COVID 19 in the workplace. Identifying hazards and assist in providing control mechanisms to ensure that the risk assessments are adequately protecting employees and customers.
  • To Support visiting the night-time economy; observing how businesses are operating, educate, provide support with compliance, and gather information.
  • Assist in other areas of work to include safety at events, possible outbreak control as and when necessary.

We are looking for someone preferably with health and safety experience and excellent communication skills who can effectively use persuasion skills to gain compliance in sometimes difficult circumstances. The ability to work with others is key and to effectively manage and process information that can be presented in a coherent timely manner.
