City of Wolverhampton Council is seeking a Compliance Officer to join the Environmental Crime / Public Protection team within Environmental Services. The team provides advice, education and enforcement on environmental crime / public protection issues affecting the city.
The team works alongside the wider service area which incorporates City Wide Environment and Waste Management to improve environmental standards and support a clean, welcoming and confident city.
The Service is seeking to recruit a Compliance Officer on a permanent full-time contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual to make a difference within the city.
The role includes providing advice, guidance and enforcement on environmental crime and public protection issues and support residents, visitors and businesses to dispose of their waste in the correct manner.
The Compliance Officer post will deal with a full range of environmental crime and public protection issues and requests for service, including the condition of properties, accumulations and fly tipping.
The successful candidate will be required to effectively manage a heavy and varied workload which may include visiting premises outside normal office hours, where required.
You will have proven oral and written communication skills, be able to work on your own as well as being a team player.
