We are looking to appoint a well organised and adaptable person to join the Direct Payments Team, as a Direct Payment Officer.

You will be responsible for monitoring how individuals spend their direct payment, including making arrangements to recall surplus funds.

You will be required to provide information and advice to a wide range of people, which can involve talking about sensitive issues, as well as communicating complex and difficult messages, in both person and writing and will involve you visiting people in their own homes.

The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English as relevant to the role is essential for this job.

Experience of operating in a customer focused environment, using computerised systems and the ability to carry out financial calculations is essential. Knowledge of the council's policy and statutory requirements for direct payments would be beneficial.

Please note that due to the current Coronavirus pandemic we are currently not visiting people in their own homes.
