YOU MUST BE A QUALIFIED SOCIAL WORKER  WHO HAS COMPLETED THE ASYE PROGRAMME TO APPLY FOR THIS ROLE.

THE ROLE

As a Senior Practitioner in Children in Care & Safeguarding, we’ll look to you to take a leading role in improving the quality of professional social work across the breadth of the casework cycle, complying with legislative requirements at all times and in accordance with best practice.

Our Children in Care teams work with children who are subject to care proceedings and help move children into long term permanent arrangements, through rehabilitation home, adoption, SGO and long term foster care.

Our Safeguarding teams intervene with children and families in challenging yet collaborative ways, to prevent significant risk of harm. Focussed on positive outcomes, they use Child Protection Plans and Child in Need Plans.

As well as managing your own complex caseload, we’ll expect you to provide technical and professional expertise to less experienced social workers, mentoring them and sharing your knowledge of relevant legislation, national standards, guidance, research, policy and procedures. Another important part of the role will involve actively promoting a ‘joined-up’ approach to effective partnership working, both with service users as well as other teams, agencies and organisations.
