Project Officer

 

£32,910 to £35,745 per annum

 

37 hours per week

 

Temporary contract until end of March 2024

Tamworth Borough Council has been successful in its application to the Government funded Future High Street Fund for over £21m to significantly transform Tamworth’s Town Centre. The total programme is valued at £40m and includes 5 distinct projects:

  • A new purpose built College
  • A new Enterprise Centre
  • A new bridge into the Castle Ground and refurbishment of heritage retail properties
  • Enhancements to Middle Entry
  • Enhancements to St Editha’s Square.

To achieve the programme within the timescales required, the Council requires an experienced Project Officer to specifically focus on delivering a variety of aspects of designated projects, coordinating activity and contributing to the success of the overall programme.

The role will be challenging and high profile, dealing with; external consultancy teams; Government departments; project stakeholders; property owners; internal council services; Councillors.

In order to succeed in this role, ideal candidates should have experience in developing and managing construction projects; managing financial resources; management of multi-disciplinary teams of consultants; public sector procurement processes and risk management processes and procedures. Candidates should be self-reliant; personally credible with a high degree of integrity; resilient/resourceful in the face of conflict and uncertainty and command the confidence of all they come in to contact with.

The post will initially be line managed by the Assistant Director Growth and Regeneration.
