Teaching Assistant (General) Level 2
Alveston CofE Primary School are seeking a skilled and experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant, to join our successful, friendly community in September 2021 to work with our wonderful Reception team. Working under the overall supervision of the responsible class teacher, the succesful candidate will assist and support teaching and learning , working with individuals or groups and assist in providing for general care, safety and welfare of pupils.
The role will comprise of 30 hours a week and include lunchtime cover. Working hours are Monday to Friday 8.45a.m. – 3.15p.m with a 30-minute lunch break.

We are looking for a teaching assistant who will enjoy working in our dedicated and professional team and help us SHINE all the more brightly because they are with us.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.
It is preferred that candidates have experience of working with young children, and although not essential, someone with recent Early Year’s experience would be ideal.
The successful candidate will:
•Be experienced working with young children.
•Have an understanding of child development and learning.
•Be nurturing, patient and empathic with children whilst able to maintain consistent and clear boundaries.
•Be able to demonstrate a strong ability to use their own initiative, build good relationships with pupils and establish positive behaviours for learning.
•Be an enthusiastic and imaginative teaching assistant who is knowledgeable about the primary curriculum.
•Possess strong numeracy, literacy and computing skills.
•Have high expectations of children's achievements and behaviour.
•Have a friendly and professional nature with children and adults
•Have a flexible and professional approach to work.
•Have a positive attitude with excellent communication skills.
