The Role

The Public Health Team at Worcestershire County Council aims to improve health and wellbeing and reduce health inequalities across Worcestershire. A vacancy for a Public Health Practitioner has arisen to join our Population Healthcare and Intelligence function. 

Key areas of work for the post-holder will include contributing to: 
• The Joint Strategic Needs Assessment
• The ongoing response to COVID-19
• Population health management 
• Development of a new Health and Wellbeing Strategy.

Key elements of the role will be obtaining, verifying and organising data and information, identifying and monitoring health inequalities and interpreting and presenting information using appropriate analytical methods for both quantitative and qualitative data. The successful candidate should be proficient in using Microsoft Office 365 and have experience with Microsoft PowerBI, mapping and survey applications.

In addition to this, the post-holder will access and appraise appropriate evidence of effectiveness for public health interventions or services and apply this evidence to plan delivery of effective public health interventions or services.

To be successful you will have a degree or equivalent qualification in a public health or related specialty, or equivalent compensatory experience, plus significant experience in a public health intelligence role.
