Safeguarding and Children in Care work is at the heart of our service to children in need. Practice is centred on direct relationships with children and families. Our Assessment, Short Term Intervention and Safeguarding teams build on families’ strengths to bring about change. Supporting children so they can stay with their family wherever possible, the teams help adults provide good parenting, firm boundaries and emotional warmth. Court teams work closely with Safeguarding to support the PLO process and court work. And if care at home proves impossible, Children in Care teams make sure children benefit from stable placements, with high quality planning and support.
With responsibility for a caseload of children and young people, you’ll play a key role in safeguarding and promoting their welfare. From assessment to action, planning to reporting, we’ll look to you to put the wellbeing and safety of each individual at the heart of your work. Working closely with colleagues and external agencies, you will analyse and review a range of information to make sure your collective efforts are effectively fulfilling children’s needs, wishes and feelings.
