Legal Executive/Solicitor/Barrister Level 2 (Education)

Salary:  £37,890- £41,881 per annum

37 Hours per week – Fixed Term until 19 August 2022

Staffordshire County Council are looking for a talented and enthusiastic solicitor/barrister/legal executive to undertake Education work.  The ideal candidate will work well under pressure and have a strong and recent working knowledge of this fast-paced area.

The post holder will work with the Team Senior Solicitor and Team Leader in delivering support in relation to Education matters, which includes:

  • Ensuring the efficient delivery of a Schools Advice Service and all that entails
  • Giving advice in relation to a full range of often complex Local Authority statutory education functions
  • Managing client files and providing advocacy on Education-related matters as and when required and in particular in relation to SEND Tribunals”.

Excellent written and oral communication, strong research skills and a talent for responding well to sales opportunities are essential.  The person in post will also be required to supervise junior staff within a small diverse team.
