Job Title: Skills Project Manager - Research into NEETs
Salary: £30,492 - £32,851
Full-Time: 35 hours
Location: Worcester
Temporary: until 30th September 2022

The Role

Worcestershire County Council's Skills team supports the Local Enterprise Partnership in Worcestershire to develop its skills strategy for the county by understanding the employment needs of our economy both now and in the future. Over the past year, the impact of Covid has meant that young people at risk of being NEET (not in Education, Employment or training) are more vulnerable and have been disproportionately impacted compared to their peers.

This exciting project management role working with the programme team will manage a research project designed to challenge the indicator that defines a young persons risk of becoming NEET (not in Education, Employment or training) and work to ensure that a refreshed indicator is both used effectively within Worcestershire’s schools and that those schools have the  right support to enable those young people to effectively progress.

The successful candidate will manage the project working with the funding body, the Careers and Enterprise Company as well as schools in Worcestershire and our partner Worcestershire Childrens First to get behind the tool and the data. The project will encompass understanding the impact and highlighting how the indicator can be used to build stronger outcomes for our young people. The successful applicant will be a self starter with a need for strong communication and a high level of attention to detail.

Reporting to the Inspiring Worcestershire Programme Manager this role will work both in our County Hall campus and on a flexible basis in line with WCC’s policies.

Come and help us to create Worcestershire’s future workforce.

This post is Funded by the Careers and Enterprise Company until 30th September 2022.
