Secondment Opportunity until 30 June 2022 - Interested candidates must obtain their line managers permission before submitting an expression of interest for this role.

Sandwell Council through its bereavement services team have recognised that new burial space in the borough is necessary and have plans in place to develop new cemeteries across some of its towns.

One of the new cemeteries in Rowley Regis is now at main construction phase and therefore we are seeking to employ a suitably experienced individual on an initial 12-month fixed term contract to be part of our award-winning Bereavement Services team to work with an already established project board for the delivery of this new cemetery and to support our plans for the construction of new cemeteries in the coming years in other parts of the borough.

The successful applicant will be responsible for and have relevant experience in preparing documentation for project board meetings, briefing papers, updating the risk register and undertaking health and safety audits as well as agreeing variations and the overall contract management of this project.

This is an exciting and likely to be a very rewarding opportunity to be part of various projects which will enable families locally continued access to key bereavement related services for generations to come.

You must have degree level education in a relevant subject, or relevant practical experience and PRINCE 2 or equivalent qualification in project management.
