Teaching Assistant Level 3 1:1 SEN Support for Complex Needs - St Luke's Catholic Primary School

Temporary to cover maternity leave

NJC Scale 3 between £10.01 and £10.21 per hour

32.50 hours per week, term time only

08.30am - 03.30pm to include lunchtime cover

Our Governors are seeking to appoint a L3 Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 Special Educational Needs (SEN) support for a KS1 pupil with complex needs on a temporary basis to cover Maternity Leave.  

Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) experience and an awareness of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is desirable.

We are seeking an experienced candidate who will be able to demonstrate that they have the ability:

  • To build good working relationships with children, teachers and parents.
  • To assist the class teacher in delivering the learning activities within the classroom by modifying the work to meet the needs of the child.
  • To liaise closely with the school SENCO and visiting external agency professionals including speech and language therapy services.
  • To implement personalised intervention programmes
  • To have the confidence to express new ideas.
  • To work closely with the child to develop social skills.

Working as a member of the support staff team, the post holder will also be responsible for assisting with the preparation of classroom resources including personalised provision for the SEN pupil, undertaking first aid duties (training will be provided), and attending continued professional development opportunities.
