About Us and the Role

 

We are looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Consultation and Engagement Officer to join Warwickshire County Council’s Business Intelligence Service to lead on the implementation and delivery of an exciting new project that will involve engagement with residents in Warwickshire.

The Business Intelligence Service hosts the council’s corporate consultation and engagement function providing critical support to ensure that the views of residents and other stakeholders are considered in the development of policy and strategy, and commissioning decisions. The role will include establishing a standing residents’ group; working with senior leaders to prioritise and plan a work programme; co-ordinating and delivering of a variety of engagement activities involving a representative cohort of residents; overseeing the procurement of bespoke engagement activities from external organisations; reporting on outputs to various audiences and project evaluation. As such in addition to having a good knowledge of engagement methods you will possess a range of skills including excellent project management, relationship management, communication and negotiating skills.

The successful candidate will be based in the Strategic Research team which is part of the Business Intelligence Service. The Consultation and Engagement Officer will:

  • Support corporate consultation and engagement activity including leading the development, implementation and evaluation of a standing residents’ group
  • Ensure that consultation and engagement activities meet the requirements of Warwickshire County Council’s Corporate Board and elected members by supporting the production and timely implementation of a prioritised work programme in liaison with key members of staff.
  • Provide input to the design and analysis of consultation and engagement activities using a range of methods.
  • Contribute to the delivery of effective business and commissioning intelligence to inform Warwickshire County Council’s commissioning decisions.
  • Support the Business Intelligence Lead and other senior officers in the development of policies and strategies which improve outcomes for residents and service users
