Bi-Lingual Teaching Assistant

Grade: 4 actual salary £12,583 - £13,354 per annum

Hours: 25 hours per week, term time only + 4 training days

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 9.00am to 3.00pm

Ormiston Meridian Academy are seeking to appoint a highly motivated Bi-lingual Teaching Assistant to provide efficient and effective support for minority ethnic children for whom English is an additional language.

The post holder will support curriculum, language and learning strategies for identified minority ethnic students at risk of under achievement; support the development of the multi-cultural ethos within the Academy, support new speakers and overcome potential language barriers at home and school.

The successful candidate must have Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths and be willing to obtain/enhance qualifications and training for development in the post. They must have the ability to communicate well in an ethnic minority language, and organise and work in a methodical manner.

Experience of working in an English school environment is desirable.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Amendment Order 1986 and, as such, it will be necessary for a Submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
