1 Fixed Term post for a minimum of 1 year with a potential to become permanent, commencing September 2021.

37 hours per week, 37 working weeks plus 7.1 weeks holiday per academic year following a shift pattern 7.00 am – 3.30 pm and 3.00 pm – Midnight

£8.9423- £9.9860 per hour, plus shift allowance when on a late shift. Plus generous local government pension scheme (LGPS)

Based in Coventry, we specialise in providing excellent education and support to students with diverse and complex needs.  Our staff are committed to enabling students to fulfil their ambitions.

In your role as a residential staff member you will be responsible for supporting students in the residential home where you will enable students to achieve their independence targets.  You will assist in the monitoring and assessing of students’ progress towards their goals and targets. You will also be required to deliver all aspects of personal care to individual students, and be involved in updating student’s individual care plans.

To apply, you should possess an NVQ Level 2 in Care and a Level 2 qualification in safe handling of medication (or achieved within 6 months).  You will have a level 2 qualification in numeracy and literacy. If you do not hold Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Maths and English, you will be required to undergo an assessment as part of the interview process to determine you are operating at the required level.  You should have experience of working in a flexible and responsive team as well as experience of working in a care environment. You will need to be a team worker, with good communication skills.  You should have good IT skills and the ability to prioritise workloads. It is important to have a positive, proactive, flexible approach to work and a strong commitment to student success.

In line with changes to the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 this role will require the successful candidate to be fully vaccinated against Covid 19 (Unless exempt). Candidates will need to demonstrate they have had 2 vaccinations of an approved UK vaccine prior to 11th November 2021. Candidates who are unable to provide evidence of vaccine status or exemption will be unable to progress in the recruitment process until they can satisfy for the above requirement.
