Southfields is a popular, diverse school in the heart of Coventry with happy, vibrant children and committed staff.  We are a two-form entry school with children’s learning and well-being at the heart of it.  We provide a secure, stimulating and caring environment in which we aim to give children the best possible start to their education. 

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, experienced and motivated Catering Manager to lead our existing in-house catering team. The successful candidate will have high expectations of themselves and their team. 

A passion for food is essential, as is a willingness to take a full part in the life of the school and encourage healthy eating with all the children. We are looking to appoint someone who is keen to develop and promote the catering provision within the school.

The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate an in depth knowledge of practical cooking on a large scale and have supervisory experience in a similar role.

We are looking for someone with strong communication skills and who works well as part of a team. You will also be responsible for stock control, ordering and budget management.

Allergen awareness is essential, along with knowledge of Government Food Standards for Education.

Qualifications required are: Level 3 Food Safety Certificate and City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 Preparation 706/1 or 706/2.

The position is term time only, plus Inset Days where a deep clean or training is necessary.

Work pattern: 32.5 hours per week (8.30am – 3.00pm)

Salary: £19,698 - £23,080 pro rata (Actual Salary £14,565 - £17,065)
