BSL communications Support Worker (TA3 +SEN)

Position: BSL Communications Support Worker

Fixed Term Contract linked to the child. Term Time only.

Hours:

6 hours per day Monday to Friday (term time only)

8:30am – 3:00pm

Start Date: As soon as possible

Pay Scale:  TA3 plus SEN allowance SCP 7

Actual salary: £14,851.07 per annum

St Luke’s CE First School are looking to appoint a BSL communications Support Worker who has a British Sign Language level 2 qualification or equivalent to work 1:1 with a child in Year 1 with Special Educational Needs.

The post holder will liaise closely with the school SENCO on strategies to maximise inclusion; academically, socially and emotionally and promote strong links with the child’s parents. The successful candidate will have a shared commitment to our school values and must have the ability to form positive working relationships, working closely with outside professionals to best support the chid.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children and young people and school will require an enhanced DBS for this position.
