Team Manager Integrated Practice Unit (IPU) 18-21 South Warwickshire Dementia Service

About us and the role:

This is a unique opportunity for a qualified social worker to lead an integrated multi-disciplinary NHS team. The successful applicant will be employed by Warwickshire County Council but seconded to the Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust (CWPT) Mental Health Services under a successful section 75 agreement. This allows for the meaningful integration of the social care agenda within the local Mental Health Trust, and prioritises an holistic person-centred approach to meeting the needs and outcomes of the population it serves.

Under the umbrella of Warwickshire’s Living Well with Dementia strategy our vision is that Warwickshire is a place where people receive support following a diagnosis of dementia which will help them to live well, remain at home and be independent for longer.

The team you will manage is the Dementia and Memory Assessment Service – referred to as IPU 18-21 – and consists of clinicians from different professional backgrounds with skills in assessing people to see if they have dementia. The team also provide post diagnostic information and support for people who have just been given a diagnosis of dementia and are skilled at managing often complex and challenging cases which require specialist input.

The successful applicant will be an inspirational leader with excellent management skills and the ability to promote team working. You will be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills, a head for complexity, and know how to improve services. You will have the necessary skills and experience to provide clear direction at case allocation, provide support and guidance through management oversight and review as well as providing reflective supervision to develop and support the skills and knowledge of your team.

The population of South Warwickshire is over 250,000 and includes the historic market towns of Warwick and Kenilworth, the regency splendour of Royal Leamington Spa, Shakespeare’s birthplace Stratford-upon-Avon as well as hundreds of acres of beautiful Warwickshire countryside.

This organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.
