Birches Head Academy has recently become part of the Frank Field Education Trust and we work collaboratively with others in our FFET family, allowing our students and staff many opportunities to develop. This is embodied in the FFET vision: ‘Social Justice through Excellence in Education’ and in the Academy motto: ‘Aspire to be More’.

Birches Head Academy is looking to appoint an Office Manager to join our dedicated staff, to manage the work of the Academy’s administration support staff, in order to ensure efficient administrative procedures are in place to enable the effective operation of the Academy.

This post is demanding, requires a high degree of confidentiality and flexibility, and will prove both interesting and rewarding to the successful candidate.

The successful candidate should have experience of leading, supporting and motivating a team within a busy office environment, and be able to remain calm under pressure. You should have excellent ICT skills and be able to minute meetings.

Experience of working in a school environment with 11-16 aged students and knowledge of school-based systems (e.g. SIMS, ParentPay, ClassCharts etc.) would be an advantage, but is not essential, as training will be provided.

You should possess the ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues and parents/carers. You must be adaptable, organised and have at least five GCSEs, including Maths and English at grade C or above (or equivalent qualifications).

All staff play a vital role in helping us to ensure our students receive a world-class education, thereby enabling each child to reach their full potential.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to demonstrate their ability to champion the Academy’s development and to be part of our exciting journey.

We welcome applications from all parts of our community as we aspire to have a staff body that matches the social and cultural diversity of our student intake.

Closing date for applications: Thursday 23rd September 2021, 9.00am

Interviews to be held: week commencing Monday 27th September 2021
