Senior Building Control Officer - Ref: EE04221
G9: £33,782 - £38,890 per annum.
If you have a good level of construction and building surveyor experience you could play a key role at Walsall Building Control.
We are looking for a Senior Surveyor who is forward thinking, knowledgeable and adaptable to join our friendly Building Control team providing a high quality Building Control service. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, be technically astute, organised, self-motivated and have experience in the following areas;
- Building Control site inspections and recording inspection details on a data base
- Plans assessment for Building Regulation compliance
- Working with developers and builders to ensure works are in accordance with Building Regulations, advising clients or the public on technical matters and offering guidance
- Have appropriate knowledge and understanding of current Building Regulations, and associated legislation.
- Have an understanding of dangerous structures and the enforcement process
This will be backed up by a degree or working towards an appropriate degree qualification in a construction related subject, whilst being a full member or working towards membership of the RICS, CABE, CIOB or similar would be an advantage.
The post holder will be required to respond to reports of dangerous structures, will need a full driving license and access to a car, they will also take part in the Council’s ‘out of hour’s dangerous structures’ service.
The opportunity for further training and continued professional development will be provided.
