The Role

Our ambition is to attract and retain the very best talent to join our high performing workforce.  To help us achieve that, we have an exciting opportunity for a creative individual who has a passion for recruitment, reward and talent management.

Reporting to the Head of HR, you will be the subject matter expert and provide leadership and direction for our recruitment, reward and talent management teams. As a trusted source of expertise, you’ll advise senior management on a range of talent management challenges. You will also lead on developing an agreed executive recruitment framework whilst meeting the council’s constitutional requirements for chief officer appointments.

In this key role, you will ensure recruitment and retention is promoted as a council priority whilst supporting your team to deliver in line with our workforce strategy. We’ll look to you to challenge existing practices and to design and implement new and improved ways of working. You’ll also contribute to the wider HR, OD and Engagement function’s goal of instilling a culture of change, sustainability and fast adoption of innovative ideas.

With a postgraduate qualification in HR or another related discipline, you’re likely to have substantial experience in the design, delivery and evaluation of recruitment and talent management solutions. This should be backed by expert knowledge of recruitment strategies and practices across the spectrum of our Council services.

Significant experience of leading teams through change and managing individual and team performance is essential.  Pragmatic, with an analytical approach to problem solving, you’ll also have excellent communication skills and the ability to persuade and influence at all levels.

For an informal discussion to find out more about the role please call Sabrina Jackson on 01905 844785 or email sjackson@worcestershire.gov.uk
