Location: Worcester (with some travel mainly across Worcestershire)

To help us achieve that, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior HR Advisor to join our friendly team for a 9-month fixed term contract.  We are looking for a confident HR practitioner to join our friendly team made up of people who are passionate about providing the best customer service and who genuinely love HR.

In this important role, you will focus on attendance management across both the Council and Worcestershire Children First.  You will be supporting line managers with advice and guidance on absence whilst working within our policies.  You will drive a progressive and solutions-based approach to managing absence which will include seeking occupational health advice, wellbeing approaches and structured return to work options.   

To succeed in this role, you will need to be incredibly organised, experienced in managing a high volume of work and be comfortable working at pace to deadlines.  Most importantly you will be highly motivated to support the health and wellbeing of our workforce.  

You will be an effective communicator (both written and verbal) and experienced at adapting your style to the needs of different audiences.  You will be confident and proficient in writing complex letters, reports and policies as well as designing and delivering training.

You will need
• a level 7 CIPD Diploma in HR or have relevant experience
• a flexible and resilient approach to work
• substantial experience of providing a professional generalist HR service, advising across a full range of employment matters
• expert and up-to-date knowledge of employment law
• expert knowledge of HR policies, procedures and practices which comply with employment law, preferably as applied in a large organisation
