Do you want to play a key role in the future of the City of Birmingham leading our finance team to deliver our ambitious and exciting Capital Programme?
As the City’s Capital Finance Manager you will lead a diverse team of professional finance staff supporting an exciting corporate capital programme spending over £1.7bn in the next four years to improving our city for all, as well as developing our 25 year future capital programme.
You will be integral to the organisation’s future, providing essential investment advice to senior officers and elected Members to enable strategic decision making. You will work alongside our delivery teams and will be responsible for ensuring we invest in the right projects by undertaking investment appraisals and providing essential financial advice to ensure investment in programmes that meet the strategic aims and objectives of the Council.
You will have a passion for working across a wide range of services from maintaining our school estate to supporting the delivery of new and exciting housing schemes for our residents. You will also lead the capital programme budget setting process, facilitate the programme’s financial monitoring and forecasting, as well as overseeing the closure of the Capital accounts each year and supporting the external audit process.
If you have excellent communication skills, a professional CCAB qualification, and strong understanding of local government finance as well as a passion for delivering high quality financial services whilst enhancing your career in a large diverse and ambitious local authority then we look forward to hearing from you.
