As a Senior Business Analyst, you’ll be working closely with your Finance Manager to support our exciting plans for improving the use of education funding to improve outcomes for Birmingham’s children and young people. You’ll provide analysis, financial modelling and expert recommendations, helping to influence decisions, advise senior managers and ensure compliance with legislation. You’ll support the Finance Manager and deputise when necessary on all aspects of managing the Dedicated Schools Grant (over £1bn), including running formulae for school budgets, reporting to Department for Education and developing financial policy for the Schools Forum. It all adds up to an exciting role where you’ll provide excellent business partner support to help us meet our goals.
CCAB/CIMA-qualified, you will have advised on a range of operational issues before. You can draw on good knowledge of business partnering, management accounting, commercial thinking, planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance management, as well as relevant legislation. You’ll also have the skills to build strong relationships with colleagues and key stakeholders (particularly schools and senior managers). As an experienced manager, you’re motivated, politically aware, caring and passionate about what you do.
