We are opening our first Children’s home and need Residential Care Officers who are caring, determined, resilient people to be lasting, significant adults in a child’s life.   Become a key worker for a child aged 8-12 years and make a difference to their lives, ensuring they receive the best care possible.  Come and join a new team and shape the future of our children’s homes.

Some of the key things we’re looking for:?Confident residential care officers, with a positive attitude, who can get alongside young people, and has the determination to make our first home a success!

We are looking for somebody who wants the very best for children and young people; making sure every child and young person has the best possible care experience, that they feel love and joy and are encouraged to take the lead in their own life; working with them to build a positive culture and ethos in the home, and responding effectively when things don’t go to plan.  Somebody who can create a comfortable, welcoming, and child-friendly home environment that you would feel proud to live in and help our children smile!  

Somebody who believes in equality and that no one is better than anyone else – that children have the right to be treated respectfully as equals by the adults around them. Somebody who truly understand that care is a ‘doing word’ and that the change we want to make in our home relies on working with, not doing to, people.

We are looking to recruit one more full-time residential care officer roles.  Enhancements for a minimum number of sleep-ins, late, earlies and weekend work are added to your overall salary.   You will be on a rota and every 4 weeks will cover; 8 weekday sleep-ins’, 1 Friday/Saturday sleep-in, 1 Sunday/Monday sleep-in/late, 1 Saturday early and 1 Sunday early.  There may be further opportunities to cover shifts or sleep-ins when staff are not in work due to leave etc; these will be claimed for separately.

Total salary - £25,926.08 (£20,092 - £21,748, subject to review, plus 29% enhancement).
