Housing Solution & Support Assistant
Birmingham City Council is seeking an enthusiastic people to join our busy Housing Support & Solutions Team to deliver our services.
If you are proactive, customer focussed, passionate about preventing homelessness and would like to do meaningful work than this might be just the job for you!
This role requires the post holder to assist to prevent and resolve the homelessness of customers that approach our service and provide effective homelessness & housing advice. There is an expectation that the post holder will develop the key competencies to ensure flexible and integrated working across the Directorate.
We are looking for enthusiastic, caring and motivated people to join our team. Housing experience is not essential as we can train and support you on this. We need people with passion, motivation, empathy, dedication and strong work ethic to help our customers whilst they’re facing homelessness.

The primary aim of this role is to prevent and resolve customers homelessness.
We are looking for people who:
- Have experience of working in a customer focused environment including front line customer service experience
- Have strong communication (written & verbal) skills
- Have good planning, organising & IT skills
- Are able to create and maintain records, spreadsheet and various databases
- Are accurate and attentive to detail
- Are empathetic and able to deal with customers in a sensitive and appropriate manner in a demanding environment
- Have experience of applying the relevant legislation
