The Housing Department are looking for a self-motivated individual with a confident and professional approach with the desire to deliver a range of allocation and lettings services within the Tenancy Services Section.
The successful candidate will be an integral part of the Allocations Team and will be expected to deliver a high quality professional service and be responsible for the delivery of home visits as required and to assist with monitoring the performance of the voids, allocations and lettings functions.
You should have previous experience in a customer focused Housing related environment, together with experience of working in a social housing related area, with a working knowledge of allocation of Social housing and homelessness applicant assessments. You should also have an understanding of the process that affects termination of a tenancy, lettings CBL, assignment, nominations and transfers to deliver a range of tenancy management services in accordance with set Policies and Procedures, working to agreed key local performance targets.
The Post Holder will also be expected to support and ensure an effective day to day Allocations administration of services is delivered and be responsible for co-ordinating the day to day work of the Allocations Housing Assistants.
You must be able to undertake a wide range of tasks in respect of the Council’s Housing Stock, including tenancy termination, allocation and advertising of council properties.
You must have the ability to use Microsoft Office Packages such as Word, Excel and Outlook and have sufficient numeracy skills in order to produce statistical reports. You must also be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and be able to establish good working relationships with a wide range of people and organisations.
You should have relevant knowledge and awareness of the issues affecting vulnerable people and have an awareness and understanding of sustaining tenancies with the needs of a diverse community.
Ideally you will hold GCSE Grades A-C or equivalent in Maths & English or an NVQ Level 3 or above in Housing Practice or be able to demonstrate equivalent vocational experience. Relevant knowledge of Housing Management Law would also be desirable to the post.
