Solihull Community Housing is an Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO) responsible for managing the property portfolio, customers and surrounding estates on behalf of Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC).

This role is to provide information and support to residents on the repair and improvements works across Asset Management. To facilitate the smooth running of site works by building and maintaining positive relationships between the residents, contractors and SCH staff. Promote and instil a culture of customer focus within the Asset Management Service. .

Exceptional customer service is paramount as is the need to support Solihull Community Housing’s (SCH) Strategic Vision, Values and whole organisation Asset Management Strategy. High quality customer service is an absolute pre-requisite of this role both on an individual and corporate basis. The role is a busy one, so the ability to prioritise and effectively manage your workload are key skills for the role. Along with an in house Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) we also work with a range of contractors and external agencies so good communication and negotiation skills are essential.

We are an Arm's Length Management Organisation (ALMO) set up in April 2004 to run the housing service on behalf of Solihull Council. The Council still owns the properties and is the landlord. But housing services are delivered by us.

We are run by a management board made up of four tenants, four councillors and four independent people chosen for their specialist skills and experience.
