37 hours per week

FIXED TERM CONTRACT (31 March 2022 end date)

WRS currently have a number of positions to join our local contact tracing team, there is funding available until March 2022.   The post holder will report directly to the Team Supervisor (Contact Tracing).  There is a requirement for the Tier 2 Contact Tracing posts to provide cover for across 7 days of the week including some evenings until 18.00 when required on a rota basis.

As a contact tracer your role will be to directly assist limit the spread of Covid -19 within Worcestershire. The purpose of your role is to establish any contacts of confirmed cases of Covid-19 and help people isolate where they need to do so.

You will do this by:

  • Establishing contact with people that have been tested positive for Covid-19 (or any other persons as directed by public health or NHS Teat & Trace) to ensure they know they need to isolate or follow current isolation guidance.
  • Understanding of any help and support needs people have in order to isolate and ensure people get the help they need.
  • Identify close contacts of positive cases that will need to be contacted and record this, and other key information about the positive case such as their workplace and other activities, accurately on both National and Local Systems.

In addition, the post holder will assist our Duty Officer Team who are the first point of contact for an award winning, shared service that undertakes Environmental Health and Licensing functions on behalf of the District Councils within Worcestershire.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic with a commitment to excellent customer service.  The role requires a confident and effective communication style by both phone and email with the ability to empathise with a range of people in sometimes difficult circumstances. Ability to work and manage cases remotely in a time effective manner while also interacting with the wider Contact Tracing team on a regular basis during the day. The service operates between 09.00 and 18.00 Monday to Friday (including Bank Holidays) and 09.00 & 17.00 on both Saturday and Sunday.
