Business Admin Apprentice (Building Control)

18 Month Fixed Term Contract

37 hours per week

Point 1 - £8,919.41 a year – initial salary for all new starters for the first 12 months of the apprenticeship

Progression of pay after 12 months are complete as follows:

Point 2 - £12,664.78 a year - completed 12 months and aged 19 - 20

Point 3 - 16,139.88 a year - completed 12 months and aged 21 - 22

Point 4 - £17,201.71 a year - completed 12 months and aged 23+

This is a great opportunity for an apprentice to join our busy team dealing with building control – making sure our buildings are safely constructed to the right standards.  In particular, we are looking for someone who wants to learn and is enthusiastic and organised.  The apprentice will be supported by experienced staff and will be given opportunities to learn about construction and safety regulations in our thriving towns.

Staff within the Team are responsible for dealing with building control processes including ensuring construction standards and fire safety are achieved. This involves checking plans and visiting construction sites as developments are taking place.

The apprentice will play an important role in registering applications, planning site visits, recording progress and helping the whole process to run smoothly.  Every effort will be made to give the post-holder a wide range of experience. 

The post offers the opportunity to study a level 3 Apprenticeship in Business Administration; no experience is necessary as full training will be provided to the successful candidate.  Qualifications required are 5 GCSEs, grades A-C, including Maths and English or equivalent qualification or experience, ICT Literate including knowledge of Microsoft packages including Excel and Word.

Warwick Building Control covers a large geographic area as a Local Authority shared service. Ensuring that when buildings are built, altered or extended they comply with the Building Regulations and associated legislation. This post will predominantly be office based and we are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the administration team to assist with the day-to-day office functions relating to the building control process. We are committed to providing a customer focused service that will maximise business opportunities.

The intention is for this jobholder to work from the office. However, home working is available if necessary.
