Salary: SET Grade 4, Scale point 13 – 16, (full time salary amount £18,933 to £19,698)

Type: Fixed Term Contract 31st August 2022, Part time 36.25 hours per week

We are looking for an experienced teaching assistant to help support in one of our KS2 classrooms.  You will be working alongside a qualified teacher to support the learning and pastoral needs of the class as directed.

The candidate will have an NVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants (or recognised equivalent qualification) and have experience working in a Primary School, ideally in KS2.  They will have a good understanding of the national curriculum and experience delivering small group work/interventions within the class, supporting specific children as directed by the class teacher.  They will have an understanding of children who have additional educational needs and be able to support children with a range of learning and behavioural issues to help them thrive with their learning.  A flexible personality, and the ability to form good relations with a range of pupils and fellow teachers is essential.  We are looking for a positive and enthusiastic person who will really drive the learning and bring out the best in our pupils, celebrating their achievements with them.

The Meadows Primary Academy are a thriving, successful school in the heart of the city with around 380 pupils aged 3-11 on roll.  We benefit from being a modern school set in extensive grounds in a surprisingly peaceful environment.  Our staff are second to none and we are proud to be part of The Shaw Education Trust, where children come first and we strive for each child to meet their full potential.

This post is part time and the working hours are as follows:

Mondays – 8.15 – 4.15pm

Tuesdays – Thursdays – 8.15 – 4pm

Fridays – 8.15 – 3.45pm

Every day includes a 30 minute unpaid lunch break.
