Job Details
Burton Market is located in the centre of town and includes both an indoor market hall and an outdoor market. The Hall itself was built in 1883 and although it was refurbished in 2014, it still holds the look of a traditional Victorian market.
Both spaces are of a very large size and can be hired for a wide variety of occasions and events. Events held in the past have included concerts, gigs, car boot sales, fairs and the annual Christmas lights switch on, as well as the usual food and craft markets.
An opportunity has arisen for a Casual Market Operative to assist the Markets Team Leader and Markets Supervisors with the smooth operation of Burton Market along with the associated day to day tasks, including assembling stalls and the setting up of events.
We are seeking applications from candidates who have good communication skills and are able to work as part of a team.
If you have previous experience of working within a Market environment and of handling cash that would be an advantage however this is not essential.
Hours of work would be on an as and when required basis, you should therefore be flexible, able to work out of office hours and at weekends, and live nearby to help cover out of hours arrangements and emergencies or have access to travel arrangements.
This post is offered on a fixed term contract to 31st May 2023.
