This is an exciting opportunity to join Telford & Wrekin Council’s Highway Maintenance Team to provide technical support within the Highways, Transport and Engineering Services area.

Telford a new town has its roots in the 1960s but this doesn’t mean we’re stuck in the past. Over the last 50 years the town has grown and developed into a hub of innovation and investment.

Telford & Wrekin Council is ambitious, always looking to develop, improve and attract investment. The Council has recently delivered a number of exciting projects including the new £250m Southwater Development, £12m Box Road Transport Scheme, £17m Growth Point Package and £12m Telford Town Centre Connectivity Package. Over the next three years the Council is embarking on a significant investment programme in the highways and transport network including £26m investment into our highways network.

We’re not afraid of a challenge – are you?

As a Network Inspector you will ensure that the Council fulfils its duties under the Highways Act (HA), Traffic Management Act (TMA) and New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) by undertaking technical work and carrying out routine and when required, ad-hoc inspections.

You will as part of a team ensure year round network coverage and compliance with our highway inspection policy to ensure a safe, free flowing traffic network whilst minimising disruption.
