Residential Support Worker

Two positions have arisen for part time Residential Support Workers (due to the retirement of long standing staff members), in the homely, residential provision of the school known as Sleepover Club. One post is for 20 hrs per week and the other is for 23 hrs per week.

Salary: Grade 6 Scale Points 20 – 24 £20,903 - £23,541 FTE salary.

              Pro Rata Salary £9,804 to £11,042

Hours: Position 1 - split shifts Wednesday and Thursday plus Friday morning, Position 2 – Monday afternoon/evening, split shifts Tuesday, Thursday afternoon/evening and Friday morning. Fixed Term contract until 21st July 2022 in the first instance.

Morning shifts are staggered between 07:00 - 09:30 and afternoon shifts vary between 15:00 -21:30.

Required: as soon as possible.

We are seeking to appoint two enthusiastic people to work with our dedicated team to support the requirements of our special needs pupils. This will include attending to personal and intimate care, administration of medication and enteral feeds (training will be given), putting pupils to bed and getting them up in the morning, providing opportunities for them to progress and develop independence in support of their Education Health and Care Plans and to complete pupil records. Good written English skills are necessary.

The successful candidates will be pupil focused and have the desire and ability to support all of our students with care and mutual respect. You will be able to work as part of a team with energy and enthusiasm and be keen to learn and develop. You will have a strong commitment to improving the lives of our pupils and ensuring that they are happy, comfortable, safe and ready to learn

A relevant Level 3 child centred qualification, preferably in Health and Social Care is required to meet ‘The National Minimum Standards for Residential Special Schools’. We can provide relevant training for the right, committed candidates if necessary. Experience is preferred but not essential.

The position is subject to a criminal record check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) which will require you to disclose details of all unspent and unfiltered spent reprimands, formal warnings, cautions and convictions in your application form.
